Self-evaluation
Self-evaluation
Self-Assessment in a Course – English:
Introduction: The self-assessment feature inside a course helps learners evaluate their understanding of the course content. Self-assessment questions are presented as part of quizzes or tasks, which students can attempt multiple times depending on the course settings.
Step-by-Step Guide:
-
Access the Quiz:
- From the course dashboard, students can click on the "Start Quiz" button, located next to the self-assessment section.
- Quizzes may be optional or required depending on the course structure. If the quiz is optional, it will be marked as "Optional," while mandatory assessments will reflect a percentage progress bar indicating how much of the course is completed.
-
Taking the Quiz:
- Once inside the quiz, students will see different types of questions (True or False, Multiple Choice, Fill-in-the-Blanks, etc.).
- Students must carefully answer each question by selecting or inputting the appropriate response.
- After answering each question, click the "Next" button to proceed to the next question in the quiz.
-
Review Answers:
- Upon completing the quiz, students will receive immediate feedback on their performance.
- If a student passes the quiz, they will see a green success message with their score. If they fail, a yellow notification will inform them that they did not pass.
- The quiz results page will also display the correct answers and explanations for each question, allowing students to review their mistakes.
-
Attempts and Retakes:
- Most quizzes allow for multiple attempts. The number of attempts will be indicated at the top right of the quiz page.
- If students have additional attempts, they can retake the quiz to improve their scores.
- After each attempt, results are updated in real-time, and the overall course progress reflects their performance.
-
Completion Status:
- Quizzes contribute to the overall course completion percentage.
- Whether optional or required, completing quizzes can help students track their understanding and progress toward course goals.
-
Automatic Grading:
- The self-assessment quizzes are automatically graded by the system. Results are displayed immediately after submission, showing the total score, number of correct answers, and the pass/fail status.
- The passing criteria, such as a minimum score (e.g., 50%), are also provided at the beginning of the quiz.
-
Tracking Progress:
- Students can track their overall course progress in the left-hand sidebar, which shows the completion percentage for each section.
- Course sections, including lectures, quizzes, and assignments, contribute to the overall progress bar.
- Students can monitor their advancement in the course by referring to this progress bar.
-
Completion and Certification:
- Upon successful completion of the course, including passing all required quizzes, students may receive a certificate of completion.
- The certificate reflects the course hours, assessments completed, and overall performance.
